BATIK is an Indonesian art form. The word means "wax writing". A |
|
design is applied to white cloth using a tjanting tool or brush and melted |
|
wax. The cloth is then vat dyed. This process is repeated for each |
|
additional color. The wax resists the dye and is then removed, resulting |
|
in the unique, crackled style of batik. |
|
Geno and Sheilah work together to create batik designs on custom made |
|
cotton clothing using this traditional method of batik. |
